As we continue with our coverage of the 2018 New York Auto Show, we take a look at some other exciting debuts from the Big Apple. Today we take a look at every debut from Lexus UX, Range Rover SV Coupe, Maserati Levante Trofeo, Mercedes-AMG GT S 4-Door, and many others.
2019 Lexus UX:
After making its world debut at the 2018 Genvea Motor Show, the 2019 Lexus UX made its stateside debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show. The 2019 Lexus UX will hit markets later this year and will be available in two versions including the UX 200 and the UX 250h. The 2019 Lexus UX 200 is powered by a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine while the UX 250h is powered by the same 2.0-liter engine but is coupled to a fourth generation hybrid drive system.
“Right from the start, I focused on the target customer – mid-30s, millennials, men and women – and tried to understand how they would expect a premium compact vehicle to change their lives and enable new experiences,” Chika Kako, Chief Engineer of the UX. “That’s what led us to the basic vehicle concept for the UX of Creative Urban Explorer – a new genre of crossover.”
2019 Mercedes-AMG GT S 4-Door:
Following the success of the Mercedes-AMG GT, the high-performance arm of Mercedes-Benz unveiled the four-door variant at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT S 4-Door is now making its stateside debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show with sales slated to start later this year. The powerful sedan is powered by a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine that makes a total of 630 horsepower – allowing the Mercedes-AMG GT S 4-Door to run from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds. The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door, on the other hand, is powered by the same V8 engine but makes 577 horsepower with a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.3 seconds.
2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS:
Making its North American debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show, the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is ready to go on sale in the United States later this year. Powered by a 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine making 520 horsepower with a maximum torque of 346 lb-ft. Mated to a seven-speed PDK transmission, the 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph.
2019 Range Rover SV Coupe:
Have you ever wanted a two-door Range Rover? Well, now you can have one. Land Rover showed up to the 2018 New York Auto Show with the all-new 2019 Range Rover SV Coupe, which the brand claims is the world’s first full-size luxury SUV coupe.
“Created by Land Rover Design and Special Vehicle Operations, SV Coupé is an exemplar of Range Rover design, craftsmanship and capability,” Land Rover said in a statement. “It features a seductive body allied to the next-generation of cabin luxury – with the peerless all-terrain ability expected from Range Rover.”
Land Rover will produce only 999 units of the2019 Range Rover SV Coupe and we’re guessing they won’t be cheap.
2019 Maserati Levante Trofeo:
Maserati decided to spice things up for the Levante at the 2018 New York Auto Show with the all-new 2019 Maserati Levante Trofeo. Powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the Levante Trofeo makes a total of 590 horsepower and goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds.
“It’s proof that when you play with the elements you end up in a storm,” says Maserati CEO Tim Kuniskis. “In the case of Trofeo, the engineers and designers in Modena knew that the driveline parameters were more than able to cope with additional power and they also knew that Maserati had access to the finest engines on earth. So, they were up to the challenge of making the finest luxury SUV also one of the fastest.”
2019 Volvo V60:
It seems like Volvo can’t do anything wrong these days. Besides winning the 2018 World Car Of The Year award for the new Volvo XC60, the Swedish automaker came to the 2018 New York Auto Show with the all-new 2019 Volvo V60.
“The family estate driver is an important customer for our business and has been for generations,” said Håkan Samuelsson, president and CEO of Volvo Cars. “The new V60 honors that tradition, but also takes it much further.”
When it goes on sale later this year, the 2019 Volvo V60 will be available in a range of variants including T6 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid, T8 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid, and two gasoline choices including the T5 and T6 powertrains.
2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe:
Mercedes-Benz was all about the Mercedes-AMG brand at the 2018 New York Auto Show. The brand also showed off their new 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe. Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine in the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe, the sports car delivers 503 horsepower with a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.8 seconds. The Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe (without the ‘S’) produces 469 horsepower and goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.
