Porsche is in the midst of a revolution. Earlier this year, we reported on the announcement that the company had already decided to double production of its Tesla killer, the Taycan. And late last month, we posted about how the company’s best-selling model, the Macan, is going to have an electric option. There’s also increasing talk about the future of the iconic 911, and how it will eventually embrace a hybrid powertrain.
So if you’ve doubted that the future of performance is electric, that news should help clarify that it’s already happening.
Now, we have some more teasers of the Taycan, and while we can’t see a ton, what we can see is encouraging. The lines look very much like the Mission E Concept that debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2015, which means it should look absolutely fantastic when the Taycan hits showrooms. At this point, we don’t have the exact specs, but previous reports have said we can expect around 600 horsepower and a range of around 300 miles. Any way you slice it, that’s pretty awesome.
We should see the production version of the Taycan later this year, but if you’re ready to add a Porsche to your garage, you don’t have to wait. Head over to your local AutoNation-affiliated Porsche dealer to explore all your options! More news on the when we have it.
