Report: Jeep Wrangler could receive an aluminum body

It appears aluminum is seriously gaining popularity as LeftLaneNews reports that Chrysler may building the next-generation Jeep Wrangler with a body made of one. Ford upped the ante in the truck department after revealing their all-aluminum F150. And with the Wrangler still employing a body-on-frame construction, like the F150, this doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. Report: Ford Explorer and Expedition may receive aluminum bodies

Edmunds reportedly learned from “company insiders” that Ford may be introducing new aluminum bodies for the next generation Explorer and Expedition. Such a move would allow the two leviathans to benefit from significant weight loss, in the same fashion for the all-new 2015 Ford F150.
