CarAdvice recently learned that Toyota could be considering a new subcompact crossover that would be a model below the current compact RAV4.
After speaking with Toyota’s Australian product manager, Mark Dobson, CarAdvice learned that Toyota expresses great interest in the subcompact crossover market, which has been growing worldwide according to their market research. Crossovers have been gaining popularity in all car markets as they surrender the need to have more than one car by having single models serve multiple purposes. This is mainly prevalent in countries where the popularity of the automobile is a new thing to the masses.
There was no indication of the possibility of a US bound version, though it wouldn’t be unreasonable to say there’s a chance. The subcompact crossover market is growing stateside as well.
