Remember the Mitsubishi 3000GT? The large-bodied two-door GT sports car cooperatively produced with Chrysler as the Dodge Stealth?
Well, that model might be making a triumphant return as a replacement for the Lancer Evolution, which is reportedly not going to continue into the next generation.
According to AutoExpressUK, word is that Mitsubishi could be using the new revived 3000GT as the brand’s new halo performance car. It might not exactly be a successor to the cult-loved Evolution, but there’s equally as big of a following for the 3000GT.
Rumors point to the use of Mitsubishi’s latest hybrid system lifted from the Outlander PHEV. Though, no specifics or official word have been shared.
