The successful design of the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will trickle down to other upcoming models from the brand, according to General Motors global design boss Ed Welburn.
Welburn says that designers are working hard on the next-generation of Chevys, several of which are scheduled to debut as early as next year.
“As Malibu and Cruze and Volt come to market, you’ll be able to see a subtle link between some of the form vocabulary for all of them and Corvette,” Welburn said in an interview with Automotive News. “I always look at the hood of the Corvette and the sectioning, the way it’s taut, very lean, very sporty. “That will be a part of really everything we do for Chevrolet.”
