MotorTrend recently stumbled upon the official EPA’s fuel economy ratings for the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which has been rated at 16/28 city/highway mpg. The figures come through official filings with FuelEconomy.gov.
The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray continues a long tradition of impressive fuel economy from a huge and powerful 6.2L V8, still good for 455hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The good figures are achieved by the LT1 V8’s use of cylinder deactivation, direct injection, and more. The new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray also requires premium gas.
Comparatively speaking, the seven-speed manual-equipped Stingray returns a slightly better 17/29 city/highway rating. Though MotorTrend claims, should GM decide to equipe the new Corvette with the brand’s new eight-speed automatic, the fuel economy ratings for the auto-equipped Corvette should increase slightly.
