Mazda has unveiled a brand-new crossover concept by the name of KOERU – which is reported to hint at the next-generation CX-7 crossover. Making its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mazda KOERU Concept, features the full suite of the brand’s SKYACTIV technologies and is designed under the KODO – Soul of Motion design language.
“The name ‘KOERU’, which literally means ‘exceed’ or ‘go beyond’ in Japanese, comes from Mazda’s aspiration to deliver value that goes well beyond the existing category norms and standards,” Mazda said in a statement. “As the latest incarnation of Mazda’s new-generation products, the Mazda KOERU crossover concept offers styling that exudes power, vitality and a new level of polished refinement. Targeted at customers with a cutting-edge mind-set, the Mazda KOERU is a bold challenge to the existing crossover market and embodies Mazda’s on-going quest to deliver pure driving pleasure.”
Mazda says that the KOERU Concept comfortably seats five individuals and offers a very responsive and exhilarating drive.
Until officially confirmed by Mazda, we’re just taking this concept on an as-is basis – however, it would make an interesting evolution of the CX-7 crossover.
