There’s not a ton to go on in the teaser pics INFINITI released of the Prototype 10 concept the company is bringing to the famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance later this month. [Updated: we just posted a full rendering ]
But fittingly, design chief Karim Habib said it represents the future of the marque, noting that the company’s forthcoming “electrified cars will be powerful, efficient, and a joy to drive, and the new concept is a physical representation of our electrified performance future.”
That said, if it’s anything like the Prototype 9 INFINITI arrived to Monterey with last year, this baby is going to be a stunner. Like the Prototype 9, the unnamed concept is also a single seater, but from we can tell, the lines will be more future-facing, because with its streamlined, hand-formed bodywork, and wire wheels wrapped with tall, skinny tires, the Prototype 9 shares many cues with gorgeous vintage racers.
Maybe this concept will look like a next-generation Formula E car? At any rate, we’ll have to wait until August 26th to wait and see.
Now, as you might have guessed, you won’t be able to find a single-seat racer at your local AutoNation-affiliated INFINITI dealer. Like the Prototype 9, the coming concept is a preview or the kind of styling and powertrains company will be exploring for future models. Those vehicles won’t start rolling out until 2021, but according to the company, those models will feature a range of 300 miles, and a offer as much as 400 horsepower.
For now, check out the teaser pics, along with this gorgeous cinemagraph of last year’s stunner.
