2017 FIAT 500c Pop Cabrio Exterior

For those who like to stand out from the crowd, the 2017 500c Pop Cabrio is a great way to accomplish that goal with its European flair and unabashed personality.

New for the 2017 model year, every 500c option can be freely mixed and matched, allowing you to build exactly the car you want. And with 15 exterior paint options, you can make this compact coupe uniquely yours.

Our test model came in a bright Rosso (red) color, accented with 16-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels as part of the Pop Cabrio Sport Package. And of course, the best exterior feature is a power-retractable soft top with a full range of opening positions, from a slight vent to fully dropped behind the rear headrests.

You can go from covered to open top with a single press of a button at speeds up to 50 mph, and four preset positions make it easy to get your desired open-air experience while keeping your attention on the road ahead.

Other standard exterior features on our 500c Pop Cabrio test model include bi-function halogen projector headlamps, tinted glass windows, power heated mirrors, and a chrome exhaust tip.

The available Pop Cabrio Sport Package added fog lamps, body-color fascias, side sills ground effects, and Nero (black) trimmed lights.

2017 FIAT 500c Pop Cabrio Interior

As you slide into the spacious cabin of the 2017 500c Pop Cabrio, you’re greeted with a two-tone paint-matched dashboard set against Nero (black) interior appointments.

And sitting just above the automatic temperature controls is the UConnect 5.0 multimedia hub that features a 5-inch full-color touchscreen. This is where you’ll access GPS navigation, satellite radio, smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth streaming audio, and more.

If you’re driving solo, the UConnect system can be operated via voice commands or steering wheel-mounted buttons so that you can maintain full focus on the task at hand.

Front passengers are treated to comfortable and supportive premium bucket seats dressed in black cloth with red accents, while rear passengers enjoy a roomy bench seat. The rear 50/50 split seats can also be folded forward for expanded cargo capacity.

Other interior highlights include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch color cluster display, and driver seat height adjustment. Our 500c Pop test model also came equipped with the optional Beats Premium Audio System for deep bass and rich sound.

2017 FIAT 500c Pop Cabrio Performance

Powering our 2017 500c Pop Cabrio is a peppy 1.4-liter I4 MultiAir engine that produces 101 horsepower and 97 lb-ft of torque.

This may not look like a lot of power on paper, but the lightweight form-factor of the 500c plus the standard 5-speed manual transmission deliver capable acceleration and a fun driving experience.

And when you activate Sport mode, the enhanced throttle response along with increased steering effort provide precise handling for when you want to be a bit more spirited on the road.

The coupe’s short wheelbase and sport-tuned suspension deliver nimble driving characteristics as well as a tight turning radius. Throw in special shock tuning and steering calibration, and you’ve got a great way to navigate the often rough streets of a dense city.

In addition to a dynamic on-road experience, the 500c also boasts impressive fuel efficiency. The EPA estimates fuel economy for the 2017 FIAT 500c Pop Cabrio at 31 mpg city and 38 mpg highway**.

2017 FIAT 500c Pop Cabrio Safety

The 2017 500c comes packed with over 50 standard and available safety and security features, like advanced multistage front airbags, front seat reactive head restraints, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and more.

Our test model also came with rear park assist, tire specific pressure monitoring display, speed control, and 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes as standard equipment.
