The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid made its debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show yesterday as the brand’s eighth hybrid offering.
“Launching this fall, the RAV4 Hybrid will be targeted towards young adventure-seeking couples looking for a vehicle that provides utility, versatility, capability and excellent fuel efficiency,” Toyota said in a statement.
The launch of the new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid also shows the redesigned exterior and upgraded interior of the new RAV4. The gas versions of the Toyota RAV4 will come in four grades: LE, XLE, Limited and the new SE. The RAV4 Hybrid will come in two premium grade models including the XLE and the Limited.Both hybrid models will come with an Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel-Drive System with intelligence (AWD-i).
Power for the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid comes from a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a smooth eCVT transmission.
As you can see from the images the outside of the Toyota RAV4 has been refreshed with a sleeker and more aggressive design. There is a stronger front end and rear end look with three new exterior paint colors including Silver Sky Metallic, Black Currant Metallic, and Electric Storm Blue. The inside now features a bunch of new technology features and interior refinement including an optional 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display, available 7-inch touch-sensitive display, leather steering wheel (excluding LE), new interior colors and better quality materials. RAV4 will also offer a new Bird’s Eye View Monitor.
Sales of the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will start later this year.
