The triumphant return of Alfa Romeo to the United States is finally here after a 19 year absence. Bowing out in the mid-1990s, the Italian manufacturer steadily advanced in Europe under the ownership of FIAT. Their first offering back in North America has come in the form of the mid-engine 4C sports car. With the initial version of the 4C Launch Edition just arriving now, Alfa Romeo has slated plans for a more cost-effective standard coupe model mid-year, and recently unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit the convertible 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider.
The 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, ditches the coupe’s roof for an open-top motoring experience. The vehicle will have the same innovative carbon fiber construction and mid-mounted 1.75-liter turbocharged engine that can propel the 4C Spider to 60 mph in the mid 4-second range.
We stop by the Alfa Romeo booth at the Detroit Auto Show to hear AutoNation CEO Mike Jackson’s thoughts on the exciting new 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider that’s due at our AutoNation Alfa Romeo of North Denver store later this year.
