It should go without saying that any new vehicle bearing the name Mercedes-Benz is already pretty exclusive. After all, these machines are basically rolling synonyms for German luxury, and aren’t exactly attainable for every consumer’s budget. But the new S-Class Exclusive Editions take things to the next level.
Under the hood, it’s business as usual, but since this is the 560 S-Class Coupe and 560 S-Class Cabriolet we’re talking about, that business if already pretty great. Meaning power comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 packing 463 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, which allows “base” versions to make the sprint from zero to 60 mph in a brisk 4.5 seconds. That said, it’s the luxury elements we’re concerned with here, and there are plenty of them, though it’s the inclusion of Swarovski crystals in the adaptive LED headlights which feels super over-the-top.
Of course, there are also exclusive exterior colors, including Aragonite Silver and Rubellite Red, and the interiors will be covered with acres of leather finished in a combination of either Porcelain and Titian Red or Porcelain and Espresso Brown. As you’d expect on a vehicle of this caliber, there’s also contrasting stitching, piping, and diamond-quilted seating surfaces, along with gorgeous, high-luster wood trim.
The stereo system will be handled from the wizards at Burmester, which are famous for producing audiophile-grade rigs that both look the business and deliver magnificent sound. So if you’re looking to pick up crazy cool system that costs as much as a summer home somewhere tranquil? They’re worth checking out.
We’ll know more about these uber-luxurious machines after the wraps come off in Geneva later this week. But your local AutoNation-affiliated Mercedes-Benz dealer will start taking orders early next month. So if this level of luxury is proving irresistible? You won’t have to wait all that long to get one in your garage.
