There aren’t a ton of changes in store for the 2019 FIAT 124 Spider Abarth — and really, that’s just fine. AutoNation Drive’s own Jeffery N. Ross tested the current model, and came away impressed. Here’s what he said about the Mazda Miata’s Italian cousin:
More than just a redesigned Miata, the FIAT 124 Spider is a fitting successor to FIAT’s classic roadster, and the sport-tuned Abarth is the ultimate expression of this car’s performance. Whether you’re looking for a fun daily driver or a weekend toy, you’re probably not going to find a car that offers as much unadulterated driving pleasure as the 2018 FIAT 124 Spider Abarth.
You can read Jeffery’s full review here, and if it convinces you that your life won’t be complete without a little Italian roadster in your garage, there are a couple new options you should be aware of before you head to your local AutoNation FIAT dealer. First, there’s the Velano package, which includes a red front lip, a red tow hood, and red mirror caps.
But the really exciting option is the addition of a new Monza exhaust, which gives the little 1.4-liter turbo engine an awesome engine note befitting something bearing Abarth’s scorpion logo. Listen to it in the clip below, and try not to fall in love.
