As traditional auto shows have decreased in relevance, more and more manufacturers have been establishing a presence at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. This year, Hyundai made a splash by releasing a video of its wild “walking car” concept, dubbed Project Elevate. Unfortunately, it’s actually only seen in the video below, and there isn’t any footage of it wandering the Convention Center in Sin City. That would have been seriously awesome, but we understand it might have been a little risky, too…
Here’s what Hyundai vice president John Suh had to say about it in the press release:
This technology goes well beyond emergency situations — people living with disabilities worldwide that don’t have access to an ADA ramp could hail an autonomous Hyundai Elevate that could walk up to their front door, level itself, and allow their wheelchair to roll right in — the possibilities are limitless.
While Project Elevate — quite obviously — won’t be available at your local AutoNation Hyundai dealer, if you’re looking for the best the company has to offer, make sure to take a look at its new luxury marque, Genesis. In addition to unveiling the stunning Essentia concept at last year’s New York Auto Show, the nascent luxury brand took top honor’s in the most recent J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, and after spending time behind the wheel of both the G80 and the G90M, our testers have been impressed.
If you’re looking for a new luxury sedan, both models should be on your list, so schedule a test drive today!
