AutoNation is proud to sponsor a boat competing in the Pink Boat Regatta. Over six years, this sailing race has raised over $324,000 for breast cancer research to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Pink Boat Regatta was founded by Ashley Bell after she found out her mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. Inspired by a sailing event held in San Francisco, Ashley Bell brought the pink sails to her Seattle hometown. Every year since its inception, sailors and supporters start organizing for the Pink Boat Regatta months ahead of time. They work to get their sailboats ready for the race put together by the Seattle sailing community, and when the day comes, they prepare to compete.
The Pink Boat Regatta’s mission is simple: “We fuel smart research to develop new paths for breast cancer prevention and a cure. This turns cancer patients into survivors, buys precious time, and improves lives. We do this through sailing. Because that’s what we do.”
Are you a sailor in Seattle? Or, more simply, a breast cancer research supporter in Seattle? Visit the Pink Boat Regatta website to register your boat or to donate to a boat. Thus far there are 20 boats enlisted to help- could yours be the next one? The Pink Boat Regatta 2017 is presented by Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and AutoNation is sponsoring one of the sailboats competing in the race.
