AutoNation is proud to sponsor A Prom to Remember for 2017 in Fort Lauderdale. This year’s prom will be held at the Ritz Carlton in Fort Lauderdale on May 12. The event strives to provide a memorable prom experience for teens affected by cancer. As many of us remember, high school proms were some of the most important and special events that happened during our final years in secondary school. For many teens afflicted by life-threatening illnesses, these proms never become a reality. Often students have to miss these dances because of therapy or treatment- meaning they miss out on experiences that really only happen in that special setting: high school.
In 2009, Brandon Opre sought to change all of that. Opre and his team put together the ultimate prom experience and invited cancer patients in Fort Lauderdale and beyond. Since then? A Prom to Remember has been an annual affair that has now spread to other cities. Currently Fort Lauderdale, Cleveland, Boston, and Philadelphia have their own Proms, uniting children in the fight against cancer in one location where they can enjoy the high school experience uninhibited.
AutoNation sponsored A Prom to Remember for 2016 in Fort Lauderdale, and this year plans to do the same. You can get involved yourself by visiting the A Prom to Remember website. You can donate financially or physically, with your money or your time. Join with AutoNation to help drive out cancer.
