Mercedes-Benz has been quite busy revamping its lineup with a slew of new models. Most important was the new design of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship sedan, which also spawned the beautiful Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. With the debut of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan, everyone was wondering if we would ever see a Mercedes-Maybach S600 Coupe. Well, it seems like we just might. At the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Mercedes-Benz unveiled what it calls the Vision Maybach 6 Concept, a large luxurious coupe that features a 2+2 seating and an outstanding exterior design.
The Vision Maybach 6 Concept has some outstanding dimensions that include a length of 224.4 inches, a width of 82.7 inches and a height of 52.3 inches. The exterior features an extremely long hood, a very low roof line and an interesting rear-end which that brand says was inspired by a round ‘boat tail.’ The front end is highlighted by a reimagined version of the Mercedes-Maybach grille and was apparently inspired by a pinstriped suit. Additional highlights include gullwing doors, exterior mirrors that are actually cameras, and two split rear windows.
The interior of the Vision Maybach 6 Concept carries on the extremely classy and luxurious looks of the outside throughout the cabin. It’s inspired by a 360° lounge-type setting and features high-quality leather, elm wood, and a front luggage area that includes a set of two suitcases in case you decide to go on a trip.
Powertrain-wise the Mercedes-Benz Vision Maybach 6 Concept is powered by four synchronous electric motors that produce 738 horsepower. That allows it to hit 0 to 62 mph in less than four seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. According to Mercedes-Benz, the Vision Maybach 6 Concept travels an estimated range of more than 200 miles. Now, if you start running out of power, Mercedes-Benz says that the Vision Maybach 6 Concept can add 62 miles to the range in just five minutes of charging, which is quite impressive and fairly quick.
Whether or not Mercedes-Benz will produce the Vision Maybach 6 Concept remains to be seen, but we do hear rumors of a Mercedes-Maybach coupe coming very soon. Stop by your local AutoNation-affiliated Mercedes-Benz dealership to drive something equally luxurious now.
