2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is Ready to Tackle Tough Terrain

It’s no secret that Toyota build mechanically robust vehicles—and its trucks are no exception. Remember when the hosts of Top Gear tried to kill a clapped-out Toyota pickup that they’d purchased from a landscaping company? The lads crashed it into things, dropped objects on it, let the tide roll in on it, and set the poor thing on fire before perching it atop a building set to be leveled. But when they pulled it out from the rubble, it fired right up. It’s one of our favorite television segments ever, and we couldn’t help but think of it when we saw these pics of the latest Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro.

Does this baby look boss or what?

Under the hood is a 278-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6, and for those wanting to ford streams, there’s a new optional snorkel package, so the motor will be able to breathe easy when the truck is mostly submerged. There’s also a trick front skid plate, a red-tipped cat-back exhaust, and beefy Fox Racing shocks, which will make short work of any obstacles buyers are likely to throw at it.

While there are three colors—Super White, Midnight Black Metallic, and Voodoo Blue—available, we think Super White is the way to go here. We love the way it makes the dark accents and the red TRD branding pop, and it’s sure to look even better when it’s covered in mud. For 2019, a JBL sound system is also standard, ensuring you’ll be able to hear every note of your tunes when out tackling trails.

Check out the pictures to get a look at the latest edition to Toyota’s TRD Pro line, and if you like what you see, head to your local AutoNation Toyota dealer for a test drive. Because while you won’t be able to scratch the surface of its capabilities on the pavement, some time behind the wheel is sure to impress.
