Hip, stylish, and fun-to-drive, the 2018 Rogue Sport offers exceptional value and more advanced features than the competition.

This compact SUV was built to meet the demands of an urban lifestyle, but still provides the same comfort and capability found in larger vehicles.

Learn how this perfect combination was achieved with a walk-through of our 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport SL test model.

2018 Nissan Rogue Sport SL Exterior

The 2018 Rogue Sport shares many similarities with its bigger sibling, the Rogue, but also delivers a unique identity and experience in a compact SUV form-factor.

With a 12.1-inch shorter overall length than the Rogue, our test model offered excellent maneuverability for dense city spaces without sacrificing the enhanced visibility and confidence of driving an SUV.

At the front, Nissan’s signature V-motion grille, angular headlights with LED daytime running lights, and contoured hood come together to communicate an athletic essence, while standard fog lights and roof rails further hint at the Rogue Sport’s adventurous nature. Strong wheel arches and molded side panels pair with the wide rear body and large liftgate to produce an overall confident stance and alluring road presence.

Our test model came painted in a Brilliant Silver color, and featured exciting visual accents like black lower moldings, chrome window surrounds, and 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Other exterior highlights include heated outside mirrors, power sliding moonroof, and full LED headlights.

For those who have outgrown a traditional car, the 2018 Rogue Sport provides the perfect balance of convenience, versatility, and accessibility in just the right size.

Making the best use of Nissan’s “gliding wing” design, the spacious interior of the 2018 Rogue Sport offers plenty of utility, with comfortable seating for five adults as well as 61.1 cubic feet of cargo space when the second-row 60/40 split seats are folded down.

You’ll find leather-appointed surfaces throughout the cabin, and front passengers are treated to heated seats and dual-zone automatic temperature control. Rear passengers also have access to their own A/C vents located at the end of the center console.

For all of your infotainment needs, NissanConnect provides an intuitive and responsive method to access navigation, music, vehicle settings, connected apps, phone functions, and more. Options for user input include a 7-inch touchscreen, steering wheel-mounted buttons, or voice control. Siri Eyes Free and hands-free text messaging assistant are now standard on the 2018 Rogue Sport.

And when it’s time to haul life’s items, the innovative Divide-N-Hide Cargo System offers customizable compartments and shelving to either protect or hide your belongings. A cargo area cover and luggage hooks are also included as standard equipment for the 2018 model year.

Other notable interior features include a 5-inch color instrument panel display, USB connections, tilt and telescope steering column, and Nissan Intelligent Key with push button start.

2018 Nissan Rogue Sport SL Performance

Living up to its model name, every 2018 Rogue Sport gets its performance characteristics from a peppy 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that’s rated at 141 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque. With a list of technologies typically found on sports cars — direct injection, continuously variable valve timing control, coated valve lifters, and tumble control valve — this compact SUV delivers excellent responsiveness while also being very efficient and smooth.

Nissan’s Xtronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) always keeps the Rogue Sport in its optimum power band, and helps deliver an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 25 mpg city and 32 mpg highway**.

And while many other compact SUVs opt for a simpler suspension setup, the 2018 Rogue Sport places priority on enhanced driving dynamics with a 4-wheel independent suspension architecture. A rear multi-link design with twin-tube shock absorbers and stabilizer bar deliver an extra sense of connection with the road, leading to improved agility and driving excitement.

For those new to driving larger vehicles, the 2018 Rogue Sport makes the transition incredibly easy thanks to its car-like handling dynamics and confidence-inspiring performance.
