Building on the already exciting day one at the 2018 New York Auto Show, automakers continued to unveil and show off the latest additions to their lineup during day to in the Big Apple. Let’s take a closer look at some of the hottest debuts from the 2018 New York Auto Show.
2019 Cadillac CT6:
Making a surprise debut here at the 2018 New York Auto Show was the 2019 Cadillac CT6. With a freshly redesigned exterior and an updated interior, the 2019 Cadillac CT6 looks even more elegant and prestigious. The highlight of the show, however, was the 2019 Cadillac CT6 V Sport. Powered by a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the CT6 V Sport produces an impressive 550 horsepower with a maximum torque of 627 lb-ft. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Sales of the 2019 Cadillac CT6 and CT6 V Sport are expected to start later this year.
2019 Audi RS5 Sportback:
While Audi had a bunch of exciting new models at its display at the 2018 New York Auto Show, it was the 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback that took center stage.
“Our progressive interpretation of a five-door high-performance coupe has neither a predecessor model nor a direct competitor,” said Michael-Julius Renz, managing director of Audi Sportt. “The Sportback offers the ultimate in functionality with maximum performance.”
Power for the 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback comes from a 2.9-liter TFSI V6 bi-turbo that makes 444 horsepower allowing it to go from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds.
2019 Ford Fusion:
You can probably get lost at the Ford display for hours since there is so much going on but make sure you keep an eye on the 2019 Ford Fusion. With a redesigned exterior and updated interior, the 2019 Ford Fusion is now better than ever.
“People tell us they are stressed with crowded roads and more distracted drivers and pedestrians. Our Ford Co-Pilot360 with standard automatic emergency braking and other technologies can help them drive more confidently so they can enjoy the journey,” said Corey Holter, Ford car group marketing manager. “For our green-minded customers, we’ve amped up our Fusion Energi with a projected increase of nearly 20 percent electric-only driving range.”

2019 Cadillac XT4:
Like most other luxury automakers, Cadillac is hoping to grab a piece of the compact crossover market. With that in mind, Cadillac unveiled the all-new 2019 Cadillac XT4 at the 2018 New York Auto Show.
“The first-ever 2019 Cadillac XT4 expands our successful SUV lineup to a segment where Cadillac has never been before,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. “And it sets off a dramatic expansion and elevation of the product range, that will see a new Cadillac virtually once every six months through 2021.”
Power comes from an all-new Cadillac 2.0L Turbo engine that makes 237 horsepower.
Genesis Essentia Concept:
The new Genesis Essentia Concept was definitely the most exciting concept debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show. Don’t get too exciting though as Genesis has no plans to build the Essentia. On the other hand, Genesis says that the study portrays the of future Genesis product performance and technology.
“We understand our obligation as a luxury car manufacturer to create objects of desire, sparking passion and inspiration by emphasizing a culture while exceeding expectations in terms of technology and connectivity, bringing our outside world seamlessly to the inside of the vehicle,” said Manfred Fitzgerald, Global Head of the Genesis Brand. “This is what the Genesis Essentia Concept is all about, and we are thrilled to introduce our interpretation of an all-electric, two-door Gran Turismo here in New York.”
2019 Subaru Forester:
Subaru showed off the all-new 2019 Forester at the Big Apple. The fifth-generation Subaru Forester is the roomiest and most capable Forester ever built by the brand and also introduces some advanced driver assist technologies. The best part? For 2019, all Subaru Forester models come standard with the award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. The 2019 Subaru Forester will go on sale later this year and will be available in standard, Premium, Limited, Touring and new Sport trim levels. All models are powered by an enhanced direct-injection, 182 hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder BOXER engine.
2019 Genesis G70:
After having much success with the G80 and the G90, Genesis unveiled the all-new G70 at the 2018 New York Auto Show. With the 2019 Genesis G70, the brand will compete in the highly competitive entry-level luxury segment.
“The G70’s U.S. debut is a very important milestone for Genesis,” said Manfred Fitzgerald, Global Head of the Genesis Brand. “The G70 is all about the driver’s experience. We look forward to how our youngest and most dynamic sedan will connect with our clientele through refined performance and athletic elegant design.”
The 2019 Genesis G7 will be available with two engines choices including a 252-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder and a 365-hp 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6. Rear wheel drive will be standard and all-wheel-drive will be available as an option.
2019 Toyota RAV4:
The Toyota RAV4 is one of the brand’s best-selling models and in order to keep it fresh, Toyota unveiled the 2019 model year at the 2018 New York Auto Show. The 2019 Toyota RAV4 is the best-looking RAV4 we’ve ever seen with a more aggressive front end and a stylish interior that brings along with it a range of technology features. The 2019 Toyota RAV4 will go on sale later this year.
