The Mazda CX-5 is definitely worth a look. Because while the sporty, virtually perfect MX-5 might be the first Mazda enthusiasts think of, the best-selling model in the company’s lineup is actually the CX-5 crossover. And while it doesn’t promise the ethereal handling of the taut little roadster—very few vehicles do, after all—the versatile compact SUV still proves that the Mazda engineers continue to consider the driving experience with every model they design.
The CX-5 Grand Touring features a 187-horsepower I-4, and power is send to all four corners via a six-speed automatic, which we found handled spirited driving well, thanks in no small part to Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control technology. Along with safety features like Mazda’s lane-departure-warning and lane-keeping-assist systems, our CX-5 also had leather seats, adaptive cruise control, 19-inch wheels, and LED lighting.
After our week with the CX-5, we came away impressed. Check out our video below, and if you need to carry passengers and cargo, but are still looking from something fun and affordable, head to your local AutoNation dearler to experience the 2018 Mazda CX-5 for yourself.
