The 2018 A4 Sedan continues to deliver tried-and-true visual appeal for the new model year, while adding refinements and thoughtful touches to its iconic design.

Audi’s signature Singleframe grille with aluminum-optic surround is the centerpiece of the A4’s form, offering functional performance and athletic styling to complement the S line exterior kit, which enhances the look of the bumpers and side sill.

Our test model came painted in an elegant Daytona Gray pearl color, and featured the optional Premium Plus package which adds LED headlights, 18-inch five-spoke Dynamic design wheels in contrasting gray, aluminum high-gloss window surrounds, and all-season tires.

Power-folding side mirrors, a power sunroof, dual exhaust outlets, and LED taillights with dynamic turn signals are also included as standard equipment on the 2018 A4.

With timeless looks and sports-inspired accents, the A4 Sedan is sure to get a nod of approval from even the most discerning car enthusiasts.

Inside the A4 Sedan, you’ll find the perfect balance of luxury, comfort, technology, and convenience, all in a performance-focused package.

Audi’s signature wrap-around dashboard extends its aluminum accents onto the front doors, and features a slight bias towards the driver, putting all of the vehicle’s most important controls well within reach.

As part of the Premium Plus package, an 8.3-inch MMI display provides a window into all of the A4 Sedan’s entertainment options, connectivity, and vehicle settings. Using the intuitive MMI Touch system with handwriting recognition, you can quickly and easily manage your music, phone, navigation, Bluetooth media, and more. For those who don’t like taking your hands off the wheel, shortcut buttons and voice commands can be used to accomplish all of the most common tasks without being distracted. Support for Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto is standard for all 2018 A4 Sedans.

And aiding in the efficient delivery of information to the driver is a full-digital instrument panel called Audi virtual cockpit. This 12.3-inch high definition, customizable display keeps whatever information you deem to be the most important right in front of you at all times. This essentially allows you to multi-task using the main dashboard display; for example, place a phone call while never losing your place with navigation guidance.

Standard equipment for our test model included heated front seats, LED interior lighting, power sunroof, 40/20/40 split-folding rear seatback, three-zone automatic climate control, and 8-way power adjustable front seats.

The optional Sport Plus and Premium Plus packages added a black cloth headliner, leatherette covered center console and door armrests, brushed aluminum inlays, S line leather surfaces, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

2018 Audi A4

2018 Audi A4 Sedan 2.0T quattro Manual Performance

Don’t let the 2.0-liter designation fool you— the 2018 A4 Sedan is quick and capable thanks to its 252-horsepower TFSI engine. When paired with a six-speed manual transmission, like in our test model, the driving experience is even more exhilarating.

Peak torque (273 lb-ft) comes in extremely low in the revs, and helps the A4 Sedan accelerate out of corners with an urgency that’s typically seen in much smaller sports cars. Of course, Audi’s legendary quattro all-wheel drive system and wheel-selective torque control are crucial in making sure all of this power is efficiently transferred to the road.

While it’s rare to find a manual transmission in a luxury sport sedan like the A4, it doesn’t mean that Audi added a third pedal and gated shifter as an afterthought — operation of the manual transmission is just as precise and purposeful as everything else about the car. Clutch engagement is deliberate and clear, while the short-throw shifter’s movement is smooth and direct. For purists, the inclusion of a manual transmission offers another layer of driving enjoyment.

Other performance features for the 2018 A4 Sedan include a new front five-link suspension, reduced unsprung weight, sport adaptive damping suspension, and Audi drive select which allows the driver to adjust steering weight, damper control, and throttle response.

Fuel economy for the 2018 Audi A4 Sedan 2.0T quattro Manual is an EPA estimated 24 mpg city and 33 mpg highway**.
