2016 Range Rover Evoque HSE Exterior

The Range Rover Evoque’s exterior design is one of the most popular in today’s automotive market. Its dramatic lines and high-tech looks appeal to just about everyone. Even our test model received compliments within minutes of being on public roads.

Historically, the best designs are always both beautiful and functional, and this applies to the 2016 Range Rover Evoque as it’s the first Land Rover vehicle to feature full-LED adaptive headlamp technology, providing a striking visual statement as well as excellent visibility for confident nighttime driving.

Our HSE test model looked fantastic dressed in Yulong White metallic paint with a Santorini Black contrast roof. This color combination along with a gently sloping roof line made it look fast even when it was sitting still.

Other updates for the 2016 model year include two new grille designs, a new front bumper, and three all-new alloy wheel designs.

2016 Range Rover Evoque HSE Interior

As soon as you open the door to the 2016 Range Rover Evoque, you’re greeted with indisputable class and luxury. Brushed metal fixtures stand out against the leather interior while ambient lighting illuminates your path to comfort.

Standard on the HSE trim is three possible interior color themes with matching 12-way adjustable front seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, and a magnificent panoramic glass roof.

And while your passengers gaze up at the sky, an all-new 8-inch InControl touchscreen infotainment system delivers a rich soundtrack through 11 Meridian speakers.

2016 Range Rover Evoque HSE Performance

At the heart of the 2016 Range Rover Evoque HSE is a punchy and fast-revving 2.0L turbocharged Inline-4 delivering 240 horsepower with a zero to 60 time of 7.1 seconds.

A 9-speed automatic transmission helps to provide plenty of low-end torque which is perfect for using the Active Driveline 4WD system to traverse rough terrain. The large number of gears also helps the Evoque achieve an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway**.

Those who drive more spiritedly can turn the drive selector to Sport mode for more aggressive gear changes or use the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters to manually cycle through the cogs.

At first glance, these performance-focused features and capabilities might seem superfluous for a compact SUV, but after a few minutes behind the wheel, you’ll realize that this powertrain is a perfect match for the nimble handling characteristics of the Range Rover Evoque. Don’t let the “SUV” label fool you, it’s as sporty as it is rugged.

2016 Range Rover Evoque HSE Safety

In addition to standard safety features, such as automatic headlights, a rear view camera, and rain sensing wipers, the Range Rover Evoque adds three new safety systems for the 2016 model year: lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), and attention assist estimation.

Both lane-keeping assist and AEB use external digital cameras to monitor the surroundings and alert you of unintentional course changes or potential hazards. Should you not take action, the Evoque will gently apply steering correction or engage the brakes in an attempt to avoid or mitigate an accident.

Attention assist estimation analyzes steering input to predict when a driver is at risk of falling asleep. Audio and visual alarms are activated when drowsiness is detected.
