Lexus took the wraps off of the 2016 Lexus RX at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, and the redesigned crossover utility vehicle is quite the looker. Fully embracing Lexus’ spindle grille design, the 2016 Lexus RX incorporates a pair of thin headlamps and aggressive LED fog lights to bring a distinct and attractive look to the luxury CUV. Out back, a unique ‘floating’ roofline provides even more visual impact to the 2016 Lexus RX.
Available with two powertrain options, the standard RX 350 and the hybrid RX 450h, Lexus says the new CUV should put close to 300 horsepower to the ground in both RX 350 and RX 450h models, with the former model using a new 8-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, consumers will find the latest in luxury technology. An available 12.3-inch screen sits atop the 2016 Lexus RX’s dash, and compliments other features like a full-color head-up display system and an available rear seat entertainment system with two 11.6-inch screens.
The 2016 Lexus RX will be offered in F Sport guise, as well. Limited to 2016 Lexus RX’s with all-wheel drive, the package brings even more aggressive looks to the 2016 Lexus RX. An active stabilizer system on RX F Sport models allows the mid-size CUV to handle as aggressively as it looks.
An on sale date for the 2016 Lexus RX has not been announced, nor has the vehicle’s price; however, we do not expect the 2016 Lexus RX’s MSRP to stray significantly from the current CUVs base price of $40,970.
